About the role
cohealth delivers integrated primary health, mental health, allied health and dental services to young people aged 12-24 at the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Mental Health Nurse assists in the implementation of a coordinated responsible service that provides support to the General Practitioners in managing clients with severe and complex mental illness in a 24/7 healthcare environment. This role operates on a rotating roster across day, afternoon and night shifts.

Your duties include:
- Undertake practice in accordance with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency
- Maintain professional, accurate and contemporaneous client file notes, assessments, care plans and all other documentation pertaining to client's management
- Participate in shared decision-making regarding client health care delivery using a multidisciplinary approach
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and risk assessments in an out patient setting

Our ideal candidate:
- Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
- Registered General Nurse Bachelor level qualification with a post graduate Mental Health qualification or equivalent
- A minimum of at least two years mental health nursing experience with recent nursing experience in a mental health facility
- Strong belief and personal alignment in cohealth Values and Mission
