About the role

This position is part of a 12-month Graduate and Early Career Program, focused on developing capability through structured supervision and learning. The new Graduate Art Therapist will be responsible for delivering and contributing to art therapy interventions and therapeutic groups within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals.

Your duties include:

  • Facilitate group art therapy sessions in consultation with consumers, ensuring alignment with recovery-focused, trauma-informed and client-centred frameworks
  • Provide 1:1 art therapy session under supervision, where clinically appropriate and within scope of practice
  • Assist with planning and facilitation of therapeutic art therapy groups for consumers
  • Document and report findings, observations, goals, and actions from art therapy sessions

Our ideal candidate:

  • Master's qualification in Art Therapy and either current or provisional eligibility for professional membership (e.g. ANZACATA)
  • Demonstrated understanding of art therapy principles and group facilitation concepts
  • Victorian Driver's License
  • Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and human-rights practice
