About the role
As a Peer Recovery Worker, you will provide advocacy, support, and service navigation for clients, helping them access necessary services and resources. You'll collaborate with the team to develop individual care plans and contribute to client reviews. Engage with clients both one-on-one and in group settings, offering support in a welcoming and empathetic manner. The role will be based at Wyndham and also involve outreach work.

Key responsibilities include:
- Uphold Lived Experience values by fostering choice, connection, empowerment, and human rights in all interactions.
- Work alongside clients, carers, clinicians, and community services to build confidence and support positive recovery outcomes.
- Assist clients with service navigation, goal-setting, and advocacy to ensure they access appropriate care and services.
- Promote the Mental Health and Wellbeing Service within the community to increase awareness and accessibility.
- Facilitate meaningful consumer, carer, and family involvement in co-design, evaluation, and service improvement initiatives.

Our ideal candidate:
- Completion of Certificate 4 in Peer Support or equivalent and/or Intentional Peer Support
- Personal lived/living experience of mental health challenges and/or situational distress, with the ability to use these experiences to support others
- Victorian Driver's License
