About the role

The Occupational Therapist (OT) is a part of the Housing Relocation Support Program which supports the public housing residents impacted by redevelopments. The Occupational Therapist will work with clients and other service providers to assess and respond to the opportunities and limitations presented by the new living environment to enable a safe and active lifestyle.

Your duties include:

  • Occupational Therapy specific assessments, home safety management and case management
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordinated care activities
  • Maintain and complete client files and statistical/program records in keeping with the organisation's policy and funding requirements
  • Support the development and review of the Housing Relocation Program

Our ideal candidate:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or intend to register
  • Demonstrate clinical skills expected of a Grade 1 Occupational Therapist including effective assessment and intervention planning in line with innovative and evidence-based practice.
  • Deep understanding of cultural safety and barriers that can prevent people from accessing healthcare

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Pre-Employment Declaration Form, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses).

Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19
