About the role

This position sits within the Primary Care Cluster with a primary purpose of establishing and maintaining infection and prevention and control systems to support screening and testing for Covid19 and providing high-quality client care within a PPE red zone.

Your daily duties will be diverse, however, will include:

  • Undertake triage and screening of clients to ensure appropriate care including COVID-19 testing
  • Assist GPs with screening and patient care within a PPE environment
  • Support and advise clients regarding the management of respiratory illness including isolation requirements
  • Provide care and treatment as required including management of acute illness and referral/transport for tertiary care.
  • Establish a PPE red zone and ensure Infection and prevention control measures are appropriate and maintained
  • Support families and significant others to remain safe and adhere to isolation requirements as appropriate
  • Ensure testing results notifications are timely and that systems comply with regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Vaccinations

Our ideal candidate for this candidate will have:

  • Registered Nurse Division 1
  • Recent clinical experience within a GP or hospital environment
  • Infectious diseases qualifications or experience in the use of PPE would be well regarded
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and providing social and mental health support
  • Immunisation Certification Highly advantageous
