About the role
The Health Information Access and Privacy Officer acts as cohealth's primary Privacy subject matter expert and is responsible for delivering high-level client information access to internal and external stakeholders. The role reports to the Health Information Manager and also provides oversight of the application of Privacy legislation and principles in relation to the primary / secondary use of client information across cohealth programs.
The role is based at our Dream Factory site in Victoria and regular attendance on site will be a requirement of this position.

Your duties include:
- Monitor the privacy and health information generic email inbox accounts
- Respond and acknowledge external and internal requests for release of client information in accordance with cohealth's privacy policy, procedures and relevant legislations.
- Maintain an up-to date client information requests register; and prepare and complete paperwork for release of requested client information as per legislative requirements.
- Play a key role in the security and legal use of client health information by contributing to the development of organisational processes and procedures

Our ideal candidate:
- Relevant formal qualifications in Information/Records Management or equivalent of 3 years of demonstrated experience in an Information and Privacy Officer type role, preferably in a community healthcare setting
- Proof of qualification to be sighted
- Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- Victorian Driver's License required
